How do the classic filters work and what is their content?

Through a 4 step filtration process, the BRITA Classic filter cartridge ensures you have cleaner, clearer, great tasting water for hot and cold drinks, and delicious food.

• Intense pre-filtration: The water flows through a fine mesh.
• Ion-Exchange filtration: The ion-exchange resin reduces limescale and certain heavy metals.
• Activated carbon filtration: The activated carbon significantly reduces substances that affect the smell and taste such as chlorine, organic impurities and certain pesticides.
• Intense final filtration via the special fine mesh filter

How do I prepare my BRITA Classic water filter cartridge?

Fill your jug or a bowl with water.

Place the cartridge in the water and shake quickly from side to side to circulate to remove any air bubbles – continue for 1 minute.

Insert the cartridge firmly in the jug’s funnel.

Filter through two litres of filtered water and discard.

The filter is ready for use.
