Made of activated carbon from natural coconut shells, its activated carbon pearls act to absorb and lock away chlorine and other taste and odour impairing substances, resulting in fresher, cleaner water. Additionally, its ion exchange pearls help to reduce metals like lead and copper as well as ensuring reliable protection from limescale build-up.

How often should I replace the MAXTRA+ filter cartridge?

For optimum results, replace your MAXTRA+ filter every month or 100L based on average household size drinking 8 glasses per day. 

How does MAXTRA+ filters work?

BRITA MAXTRA+ filters feature the innovative MicroFlow Technology using carbon pearls that are created from coconut shells as well as ion exchange pearls to reduce the presence of chemicals, metals and prevent limescale build-up. The carbon pearls reduce chemicals such chlorine that may be present in your drinking water. The ion exchange pearls reduce metals such as lead and copper and limescale build-up that affect the quality of water coming out of your tap.

How do I prepare my BRITA water filter cartridge?

MAXTRA, MAXTRA+ and Classic filter cartridges:

• Fill your jug or a bowl with water.
• Immerse your cartridge in the water and shake vigorously from side to side to circulate water within your cartridge and to remove all air bubbles for about 1 minute.
• Place the filter into the jug.
• Filter through and discard 2 litres of water
• The filter is now ready to use.
